Things You Do Before Moving Out
I started writing as an undergraduate at Howard University where I was fortunate to participate in the Hurston/Wright Writers workshop, and to have been published through DrumVoices Revue. After a multi-year hiatus I began writing again.
Things You Do Before Moving Out chronicles the process of departure and growth that is often complicated by being at the intersection of blackness, maleness, and queerness. Given the limited visibility of this identity construction, this collection considers the internal struggles, and joys faced by black queer people.
